Eligibility
A Master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a UGC-recognized university or institution. There is no upper age limit. Candidates who’ve already qualified KSET in a particular subject cannot reappear in the same subject. Out-of-state candidates can apply under the General category, though no reservation applies to them.
Exam Pattern
Two papers, both objective MCQ-only. Paper I is general in nature — testing teaching/research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper II covers the candidate’s specific subject.
Application Fee
General/II-A/II-B/III-A/III-B category and candidates from other states: ₹750. Fee is non-refundable once paid, regardless of circumstances.
Qualifying Marks
General category candidates need 40% aggregate across Paper I and Paper II. Reserved category candidates need 35% aggregate. The final qualifying list is prepared subject-wise and category-wise.
