Eligibility Criteria (by post)
Inspector of Factories: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, plus 2 years’ industrial experience (preferably in Industrial/Occupational Safety, Health, Environment).
English Reporters: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, English shorthand at 150 wpm, higher-grade English typewriting.
Assistant Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s degree with Statistics as main subject, or Mathematics/Economics/Commerce/Computer Science with Statistics studied as a paper.
Analyst Grade-II: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Sciences (First Class preferred).
Assistant Director (Tribal Welfare): Master’s in Social Anthropology, Sociology, or Social Work (1st/2nd class), plus 2 published papers in national academic journals.
Assistant Director (Economics & Statistical Service): PG in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Applied Economics/Statistics/Mathematics, Econometrics, or Computer Science.

Every post uses a single-stage CBRT exam — no separate screening round. Exam patterns vary: Inspector of Factories and Assistant Director (Tribal Welfare) run 450 marks over two papers; Assistant Statistical Officer and Analyst Grade-II run 300 marks over two papers; English Reporters combines an objective paper with an actual shorthand dictation/transcription test; Assistant Director (Economics & Statistical Service) runs a 3-paper, 450-mark exam. Objective papers carry 1/3rd negative marking per wrong answer.
