The Uttar Pradesh Adhinasth Seva Chayan Aayog (UPSSSC), Lucknow has released the notification for the Avar Abhiyanta (Krishi) Mukhya Pariksha 2026 — the Main Exam for 134 Junior Engineer (Agriculture) posts under the Directorate of Agriculture, via Advertisement No. 19-Pariksha/2026. Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and are shortlisted based on their normalized PET score are eligible to apply, between 17 September and 7 October 2026.

Who Can Apply
Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) and hold a valid, non-zero, non-negative score card are eligible. Shortlisting for the Main Exam is done category-wise, up to 15 times the number of advertised posts based on normalized PET-2025 score.
Eligibility (Educational Qualification)
A High School certificate from the UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (or equivalent), along with a 3-year Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Prāvidhik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or an AICTE-approved equivalent. Preference in recruitment goes to candidates with 2 years’ Territorial Army service or an NCC ‘B’ Certificate, all else being equal.
Age Limit
18 to 40 years, as on 1 July of the year of advertisement, with relaxation for SC/ST and other notified categories, and a 5-year relaxation for UP government servants.
Exam Pattern
- Part-1: Subject Knowledge (13 topics — Farm Power Engineering, Tractor, Irrigation & Drainage, Post-Harvest Technology, etc.) — 65 marks
- Part-2: Computer & Information Technology — 15 marks
- Part-3: General Information related to Uttar Pradesh — 20 marks
- Total: 100 objective questions, 100 marks, 2 hours, with ¼ mark negative marking per wrong answer

₹25 online processing fee for all categories (UR/OBC/SC/ST) at this stage — no separate application fee. A further Main Exam fee applies later for shortlisted candidates before admit card download.
